Under construction from early 2007, the handdrawn text underlaid in Frame is activated in the light and stilled in the dark.  The slow revelation of content yet lack of finality to the image extends the painting beyond the artists hand and the usual timeframes of making, exhibition and display.  An exercise in frustration and patience, the work refers to the wisdom of madness, inspired by poet and writer Janet Frame.
